As most INTPs, Frisk was a very bright child. She was able to understand complex concepts from a young age, and she was always eager to learn more about them. Her intelligence allowed her to easily pass her classes, and she became interested in science and research. However, her parents were not happy about her fascination with science, and told her that she would never be able to gain a job with it. They didn't want her to go into a career that would make them worried about her, and claimed that they would be unable to provide her with a stable life. Frisk claimed that they were wrong, and she wouldn't let anyone tell her what she can do with her life. She still continued her research at home, but she was restricted from bringing any of the results home for her parents to look at.

Frisk was no longer allowed to ride the bus to school because of the potential danger involved in riding the bus without adult supervision. Instead, she walked to school every day, but had to take a different route because of other children's safety concerns.
